Who Are We?

Sufism is fundamentally a tradition encompassing both theoretical and practical aspects of life, rooted in the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the exemplary lives of the Companions.

According to Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani, the most essential characteristic of Sufism is that it is a science of the heart (*hāl*) rather than a science of words (*kāl*). Some Sufis have described the three core traits of the people of Sufism as follows:

• The people of Sufism are like the earth, serving everyone indiscriminately, whether good or bad.
• They are like the clouds, providing shade to all.
• They are like the rain, embracing and nourishing both the loved and the unloved.

Today, the Üsküdar Sufi Wisdom Center (USBM) organizes various activities to preserve the Sufi tradition. These activities include themed seminars, spiritual music sessions, and cultural trips. Such efforts aim to sustain and understand the values of Sufism in the modern world.
